PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY / RESTless leg syndrome
Peripheral Neuropathy
Peripheral Neuropathy is a problem with the nerves that carry information to and from the brain and spinal nerves. This “nerve damage” disrupts the body’s ability to communicate with its muscles, skin, joints, or internal organs. It is like the body’s electrical wiring system breaking down, causing numbness, pain, weakness and poor coordination.
The 7 signs of Peripheral Neuropathy are:
Numbness
Burning Feet
Cramping
Sharp Electric Pain
Pain When Walking
Difficulty Sleeping From Leg Discomfort
Prickling / Tingling Feelings
Some causes of Physical Neuropathy may be:
Statin Drugs
Damaged back years / decades ago - leads to scar tissue
Arthritis
Spinal Stenosis
Bulging Disc
Diabetes Type 1 / Type 2
Poor Diet
Genetics / Lifestyle (80% lifestyle / 20% genes)
Restless Leg Syndrome
Some causes of Restless Leg Syndrome:
Mineral Deficiencies
Dopamine deficiencies/Parkinson's
Spinal Stenosis
Willis Ekbom Disease
Side effects from medications
Hypoglycemia
Neurologic disorders
Here’s how we take a Different Approach ...
Neurologically:
We test to make sure the brain and brain stem are functioning normally
We examine the spine to determine the presence of Disc Lesions, Arthritis, Facet Syndrome, and Nerve Impingements
We correct any abnormalities with Upper Cervical Brain Stem Chiropractic, Spinal Decompression, and Full Spine Chiropractic Care.
Metabolically:
We do functional blood chemistry/functional nutrition
We look for conditions such as diabetes, or inflammation that may impair neurologic function and ability
* results may vary from person to person, and are not guaranteed.
